Making Ginger Beer

Aim : 

I want to find out how to ( Brew ) make Ginger Beer .

Method :

Equipment 

1. Plastic cup 
2. Pen 
3. Powdered  Ginger 
4. Water 
5. Sugar 
6. Spoon 
7. Lemon Juice  
8. Yeast

Instructions 

1. Get your equipment 
2. Get a plastic cup 
3. Put your name on the cup ( In class ) 
4. In your cup put Powder Ginger ( PUT HALF A OF A TEA SPOON OF GINGER ) into your cup 
5. Add half on a cup of water 
6. Then add one table spoon of sugar in to the cup 
7. Mix it together with a spoon so then there are no ingredients on the bottom
8. Add 5 drops on lemon juice
9. Taste it adjust the flavor 
10. Add 1 quarter of yeast 
11. Let it brew for a week 

Results: 

What dose my ginger tastes really bad and way to much yeast

What is Fermentation 

It is when the Yeast  east the sugar witch is Carbon Dioxide then the yeast Excretes ( Poo's ) out the Alcohol .

pH Colours

 Aim : 

I want to find out what the colours of pH are 

Research : 

Method : 

Equipment 

• Acid - Hydrochloride 
• Base - Sodium Hydroxide 
• Test tube rack With Test Tubes 
• Droppers 
• Red Cabbage
• Universal Indicator 

Instructions : 

1. Get your equipment
2. get your test tube 
3. Ten drops of universal indicator in each test tube   
4. Put some drops of acid to then it should make a red colour 
5. Add different amounts of acid into the test tube 
6. Watch what happens to the colours

Making Sherbet

 Aim: 

I want to fount out how to make sherbet 

Research : 

Method : 

Equipment 

• Citric Acid 
• Any flavor of raro 
• Backing soda
• Paper
• Popsicle stick 

Instructions : 

1. Get a little plastic cup 
2. Then get a Popsicle stick  
3. The get your paper and put it on a flat space 
4. And start putting a little bit of Citric Acid in to your cup 
5. Then put a little bit of Baking soda and taste it
6. If it tastes bad then add Raro so then you get some flavor 
7. Then taste it again if it tasted good then you have sherbet . 
8. If it dose not taste bad then add something you might have to keep adding stuff until you get it right  

Result 

It trend out really good and it tasted really good like sherbet .

Hot Chilli

Aim :

I want to find out the best way to call down your tongue after eating hot chilli

Research :  

  

Method: 

Equipment 

• Hot Chilli Sauce
• Popsicle Stick  
• Drinks - Soda , Water , Milk 
• Timer 

Instructions :

1. Get your equipment
2. Get scope or drop of sauce of your Popsicle stick
3. Like the hot chilli sauce
4. Start the timer 
5. After 2 mins, drink your drink 
6. After 5 mins , how hot in your mouth
7. Repeat the experiment but with a different drink

Results : 

I have don it with no drinks and it is 10 / 10 of hotness

The next one it did with water and it is hotter because there was still chilli in my mouth so in sore it 9/10 

The next one we did with coke and I sore it a  3 or 4 /10

The last one we do is milk I sore it a 2/10

Mentos and Coke

 Aim 

I want to found out what happens when you drop mentos into coke 

Research

Method 

Equipment 

• Coke , Coke No Sugar , Sprite 
• Mint Mentos
• Detergent
• Beakers
• Safety Glasses
• Measuring Cylinder

Instructions

1. Put on your safety classes   
2. Pour 30mils of COKE into a measuring cylinder
3. Measuring 10mils of detergent 

1. Pour 30mils of coke no sugar into a measuring cylinder
2. Measuring 10mils of detergent 

1. pour 30mils of sprite into a measuring cylinder
2. Measuring 10mils of detergent 

Results 

Coke 70  - mils in hight

Coke No Sugar  - 71 mils 

Sprite - 56 mils 

COKE & Mentos	COKE	COKE- No Sugar	SPRITE
Height of Bubbles	70mL	71mL	56mL

Disunion

Why did the bubbles form ?   

It came from the carbon dioxide in the air makes the sugar react in the soda witch makes it erupt because all of the bubbles in the COKE bottle air comes up and makes it explode.

Skittle Colours

 Aim:

I want to find out what happens when you put skittles in water . 

Method: 

Eqement: 

• x8 Skittles 
• Warm Water 
• Petri dish 
• Beaker
• Paper towel 

Instructions: 

1. Get your equiment 
2. Put the skittles into the petri dish
3. Spreed them around the outside
4. Clean the beaker then dry it 
5. GENTLY pour the water in the middle of the petri dish so it is half full 
6. Observe what

Edible slime

 Hello bloggers, 

Aim: 

I want to found out to make edible slime with out getting sick 

Research:

Method: 

Equipment: 

1. Powdered sugar 
2. Fruitberst bursts 10 - 15
3. Microwave 
4. Bowl / Paper Cup 
5. Spoon/Spatula 

Instructions :  

1. Wash your hands
2. Remove all of the lolly wrapper 
3. But the fruitbersts  in to a bowl 
4. But the bowl into the microwave for 1:00 min
5. Then stir it.
6. After they have melted 
7. Put powdered sugar on to the bench 
8. Scope out the mixture onto the bench  
9. Mix the powdered sugar into the starbursts 
10. Keep putting powdered sugar in to the melted mixture in till it is not sticky.
11. Know you have a edible slime

Hands on fire

 Aim : 

I want to find out  how to light my hands fire SAFELY.

Method: 

Equipment 

• Lighter
• Water 
• Gas
• Tray 
• Hose 
• Liquid Soap 
• Safety classes 

Instructions:

1. Get the equipment ready.
2. Full the Tray with water 
3. Put the liquid soap in the water 
4. Gently mix 
5. Connect the hose the gas tap 
6. Turn gas on then it will make bubbles 
7. Put on your safety classless
8. Whet your hands up to your elbows  
9. Scope the bubbles with both hands 
10. Take 2 steps ford 
11. Hold bubbles as far away from your face as possible 
12. Don't panic slowly open your hands 

Results:

I saw: A big cloud of fire and it was orange yellow and really big.

I heard  : A big swoosh .

I smelt : Bearing and gas .

I felt : My hart beating and my hands being on fire

Safety in the Lab

 hello bloggers ,

Today in the Lab we are learning about Safety in the lab 

1. Liquids do not go into the bins, because they could explode and but bad chemicals everywhere.  

2. Solids do not go down the sink because it could clog the sink.

3. Wear safety glasses when you do experiments,

because it could heart your eyes.

4. Put your chair under the desk, and stand at the bench

when you do experiments, because or people can trip over and heart people and spill the chemicals.

5. Bags do not go on the desks, because you could spill stuff on your bag.

6. Long hair should be tied back, because then it dose no go in your way wile your doing the experiments.

7. Do not smell the chemicals, because you could faint and bag your head. 

8. Walk, don’t run around the room, because  you could trip over.

9. Do not eat or drink in the lab, because... because you could  get Bactria because you can die.
