How To Make Hokey Pokey

Method :

Equipment

• Sugar 5 tablespoons 
• 2 tablespoon of golden syrup 
• Pinch of backing soda  
• Pot 
• Bunsen Burner  equipment / stove 
• Spectacular / Steering rod
• Backing paper  
• Try not to burn it 

Instructions 

1. Get your equipment
2. Add your sugar and your golden syrup to your pot 
3. Get your Bunsen Burner / Pot
4. Set up your Bunsen Burner / Pot 
5. Use a blue flame .
6. Melt then boil the sugar 
7. switch of the gas / stove 
8. Add the baking soda and mix
9. Poor it on to the baking paper so then it calls easier
10. Let it cool for 5 mins all it will be to hot 
11. Clean up your equipment / mess 

 Results : I went really well !

Monoprinting

In class today we are doing Monoprinting is when you get ink onto a clear plastic sheet and you get a  drawing that you have done on a peace of paper and piece the peace of paper where you want the colour and draw over the the line's and your finished product should end up sort of like this .

Making Ginger Beer

Aim : 

I want to find out how to ( Brew ) make Ginger Beer .

Method :

Equipment 

1. Plastic cup 
2. Pen 
3. Powdered  Ginger 
4. Water 
5. Sugar 
6. Spoon 
7. Lemon Juice  
8. Yeast

Instructions 

1. Get your equipment 
2. Get a plastic cup 
3. Put your name on the cup ( In class ) 
4. In your cup put Powder Ginger ( PUT HALF A OF A TEA SPOON OF GINGER ) into your cup 
5. Add half on a cup of water 
6. Then add one table spoon of sugar in to the cup 
7. Mix it together with a spoon so then there are no ingredients on the bottom
8. Add 5 drops on lemon juice
9. Taste it adjust the flavor 
10. Add 1 quarter of yeast 
11. Let it brew for a week 

Results: 

What dose my ginger tastes really bad and way to much yeast 

I would not sell it !!

It is when the Yeast  east the sugar witch is Carbon Dioxide then the yeast Excretes ( Poo's ) out the Alcohol .

Here is the reading activities that I have done bye the way the story that I read is called Zapp

Chapter one :Zapped ! 

Inferencing - How do Ana and Tai feel about their mum waking up? There weren't happy they were frustrated. What clues does the text give us?  That there where trying to get away because there mum came into the room. 

How did Mum feel when she saw the mess? Unapppy  How did you know she’d feel that way? Because it says that “ they hard there mum roar of there angry mother “

Why do you think Tidy-bot made such a mess? Because it dose the opposite of what it is told.  Can you think of any other instructions the robot might misunderstand? Clean the flour 

After reading chapter 1, make your predictions about what might happen in chapter 2. The robot might come right and do everything right and help them clean everything up . Or the twins will though the robot away. 

Chapter two : Zapped !!

Some words in the story have two meanings and this causes Tidy-Bot to get things wrong..  Make a list of these words and both of the meanings Frambled- means scrambled Scroached - means poached 

After reading chapter 2, make your predictions about what might happen in chapter 3. They all have a fight about tidy bot being in the house .

Complete the attached . Choose either Ana or Tai to complete this. Ana 

Facts - What do you know about the character : that she has a twin brother called Tai she made a robot with her twin and it came alive. She goes to a school 

Quotes - What does the character say? She always agrees with Tai. Write some brief quotes that help you understand what the character is like. She loves animals , she has a brother ,and she made a robot. And got into a lot of trouble 

Actions - What does the character actually do? She dose a lot of things she has made robot that dose not do things right .

Getting inside a character’s head - Write down some of the character’s thoughts and feelings.

Thoughts - What if they don’t like the robot that we made. 

How did the robot come alive . 

Feelings - happy sad angry hiding.

• Base - Sodium Hydroxide 
• Test tube rack With Test Tubes 
• Droppers 
• Red Cabbage
• Universal Indicator 

Instructions : 

1. Get your equipment
2. get your test tube 
3. Ten drops of universal indicator in each test tube   
4. Put some drops of acid to then it should make a red colour 
5. Add different amounts of acid into the test tube 
6. Watch what happens to the colours

Making Sherbet

 Aim: 

I want to fount out how to make sherbet 

Research : 

Method : 

Equipment 

• Citric Acid 
• Any flavor of raro 
• Backing soda
• Paper
• Popsicle stick 

Instructions : 

1. Get a little plastic cup 
2. Then get a Popsicle stick  
3. The get your paper and put it on a flat space 
4. And start putting a little bit of Citric Acid in to your cup 
5. Then put a little bit of Baking soda and taste it
6. If it tastes bad then add Raro so then you get some flavor 
7. Then taste it again if it tasted good then you have sherbet . 
8. If it dose not taste bad then add something you might have to keep adding stuff until you get it right  

Result 

It trend out really good and it tasted really good like sherbet .

Blind Taste Testing

 Aim : 

I want to find out if food tastes differently when your cant see or cant smell.

Equipment 

• Blind fold 
• Mystery food 

Instructions

• Get your equipment   
• Wash your hands 
• Put your blind fold on 
• Put your hand out and cover your nose and pinch it 
• Eat the food and guess what it is 
• Release your nose and taste the food 
• Where dose the food react of you tongue 

Results :  

Food #1 - when my nose was pinched is tasted like sugar / when I unpinched my nose it tasted a bit sour

Food #2 - when my nose was pinched it tasted like salt / when  unpinched my nose it sill tasted like salt 

Food #3 - when my nose was pinched it tasted like baking prouder / when I unpinched my nose it still tasted like baking poured 

Food #4 - when my nose was shut is tasted like citric acid / when my nose was unpinched is yased really sour 

Food #5  - when my nose it tasted like a sour gummy / when my nose was unpinched it tasted like a gummy lolly 

Food #6 - when my nose was shut it tasted like a burger rings  / when my nose was unpinched it still tasted like a burger ring

Food #7 - when my nose was shut it tasted like a dry little Marshmallow / When my nose was unpinched it tasted like a dry little marshmallow

Hot Chilli

Aim :

I want to find out the best way to call down your tongue after eating hot chilli

Research :  

  

Method: 

Equipment 

• Hot Chilli Sauce
• Popsicle Stick  
• Drinks - Soda , Water , Milk 
• Timer 

Instructions :

1. Get your equipment
2. Get scope or drop of sauce of your Popsicle stick
3. Like the hot chilli sauce
4. Start the timer 
5. After 2 mins, drink your drink 
6. After 5 mins , how hot in your mouth
7. Repeat the experiment but with a different drink

Results : 

I have don it with no drinks and it is 10 / 10 of hotness

The next one it did with water and it is hotter because there was still chilli in my mouth so in sore it 9/10 

The next one we did with coke and I sore it a  3 or 4 /10

The last one we do is milk I sore it a 2/10

Today is your last day in drama we have been doing freeze frame . Here is some photos of what we have done I hope you enjoy. In class the freeze frame is when it is a still image telling a story . In the freeze frames we worked really well because we used a lot of teamwork and communication . We have improved a lot since the first time we did freeze frame and some people did not use facial expression and some had some really good ones the movement in the freeze frames and people used really good levels is different groups not so much in your group though. the transitions in your group was not the best we could defiantly improve that is it I hope you like the pitchers of the work we have done for the last 2 weeks of school and we only had 4 drama class's left enjoy.
